Our program includes self-protection skills as taught in Fierce Israeli Guerilla hand to hand Tactics and Filipino Kali. Mixed Martial Arts is not new. It has been practiced for thousands of years by many civilizations and quite possibly was invented by the ancient Greeks. As the fighting methods were carried from the Mediterranean to Asia and finally to the West the combative aspects of martial arts became more competitive and it was the Brazilians who re-introduced the concept of two unarmed combatants testing their skill, attributes and athletic abilities within a gladiator like arena. This became known as the modern day UFC or Ultimate Fighter Challenge.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu proved in the early days of the UFC that the grappling expert had the advantage when competing in combat against most strikers. However, the stand up fighters began to learn the methods of the grapplers. This mix of training and knowledge would lead to a more complete fighter. Fused with an excellent conditioning program, MMA has proven to be one of the most effective forms of martial arts available. Karate/Kickboxing/Boxing

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu

– This training will get you ready for the ground! You will discover how to apply your body with the ground to gain leverage and the advantage over your opponent. Our Brazilian Jiu-jitsu class will give you an arsenal of finishing moves to include joint locks, chokes and submissions! Jiu-jitsu is a complete and highly effective system of ground fighting. It will get you into awesome condition and is extremely fun!


Wrestling

– We blend the stand up of kickboxing and Karate with the ground work of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu through a bridge of wrestling. Learn how to effectively take your opponent to the ground. Wrestling will give you the skills needed to close the gap and take him down! Gain superior position and finish the fight with Brazilian jiu-jitsu techniques.


Fierce Israeli Guerilla Hand to Hand Tactics

– this training is designed for self protection and not for sport. The training concept is to explode like a bomb and smash the attacker! You will learn how to tap that killer instinct that is designed to give you the advantage in a real life situation. Our F.I.G.H.T is a portion of the training and is blended into our MMA program.


Filipino Kali

– when confronted by an attacker with a weapon or multiple opponents, then a higher understanding of combat is needed. Kali answers the problem of weapons with its use of weapons. At Fournier’s, Kali is part of your training and is presented during the self protection cycle of our curriculum.
